A cruise line will use dead fish as fuel
Hurtigruten cruise ships will soon be powered with dead fish, according to the company.
“What others see as a problem, we see as a resource and a solution,” a spokesperson of the company said in a press release. “By introducing biogas as fuel for cruise ships, Hurtigruten will be the first cruise company to power ships with fossil-free fuel.”
It is estimated that by 2021 six cruise ships of the company will use biogas large battery packs and liquefied natural gas (LNG).
Norwegian Hurtigruten is constantly investing for green technology to protect oceans and environment, hoping that other companies will take action too.
